The Jean Barry Soap Story

Jean, a trained aromatherapist, formed the company in 2002. After spending a couple of years developing her unique recipes, Jean took the brave step and opened her first shop in Bread Street in Penzance. After 18 months, building on the success, she moved in to Causewayhead, a beautiful street full of independent traders.

Jean is a person who loves nature and after spending most of her life in Surrey, finally escaped to Cornwall to live the life she loves.

The dream had been to do her therapies and live a simple life, but due to a neck injury found she was unable to do this. After being a lost soul for over a year, she was very lucky and soap found her. She always says it was a bit of a bumpy ride, but the end was perfect.

The start of the journey was stirring her soap in her kitchen, then upstairs in her first shop and now finally in the beautiful barn on her small holding. As the soap is stirred, Jean can look out and see her animals and the amazing view over the ocean to the Scilly Isles, on a clear day.
